Youtube Space Tokyo にて

六本木ヒルズの森タワーにYoutubeが運営するスタジオがあり、先日のサマーソニックにも出演を果たしたバンドRobin's Egg Blueの映像／演奏の収録に参加してきました。

 このスペースはYoutubeを利用しているクリエイターが、いくつかの条件をクリアして、youtubeで公開することを前提に作品制作に 使えるというスタジオ施設らしいです。映像だけでなく音の収録設備も整っていて、奥にはニュース用の撮影スペースもありました。他のスタジオ施設と違うオモシロいところは、高層階の窓から東京タワーが至近距離で見れる！ということでしょうか? 私としては、シネマ用のカメラを使えたことが収穫でした。

I participated in a video/sound recording at Youtube space Tokyo, for the band Robin's Egg Blue, who played at one of major music festival in japan, Summer Sonic,  this year.

I didn't know that youtube had a studio space in Tokyo until I joined this shooting, but the space was interesting, with dynamic Tokyo tower view.To me, it was good that I had an opportunity to handle Cinema Cameras.

ongoing project 1 最近の制作 1

I have been working on this short film project for about 2 years now..

finally it's almost finished editing.  this piece is my attempt to make a rather narrative story without having conversations in it. I am also trying to put sound  by myself on this one.  

作り始めてから２年位たってしまった映像作品がようやく完成しそうなのですが、これはショートフィルム風の作品で、会話を入れずにストーリーを語ろうという試みです。編集がほとんど終わって、これから音をつけるのですが、今回はじめて、音も自分で全部つけようと思ってます。この作品は完全に個人的に作っていて、どういう風に公開するかは今考え中なのですが、なんらかの形で見せたいなと思っています。

高知 Kochi, Japan

冬に、高知県の佐川町という小さな町の、歴史ある酒蔵の建物が並ぶ通りで行われている、酒蔵ロード劇場というイベントで私の映像作品を上映させてもらう事になりました。

窓や扉や瓦のついている酒蔵の建物の壁に映像を映し出します。

春に、光の切り絵作家の酒井敦美さんに出会って、参加の声をかけてもらったのです。

ということで、高知県を訪れてきました。人生で初めて四国に上陸しました。言葉で説明がむずかしいのですが、すごく、ゆるやかできれいで、素敵な所でした。ある意味新しい世界を見たという感じです。。７月７日には砂浜美術館というところで酒井敦美さんが作品を夜の砂浜で投影するイベントも見に行き、おもしろかったです。夜には満点の星空に天の川がはっきり見えて感動しました。

去年までは彼女が一人でこの酒蔵の町並みに作品を投影されてたのですが、今年から、いろんな作家の発表の場にしていきたいという事で、私も参加することになりました。

夜に敦美さんとテスト投影をしたのですが、壁のあまりのかっこよさに大興奮してしまった。本当に楽しみです。１２月７日開催です。

I am participating in a "SAKAGURA Road Theather", in December, at a histrical SAKE brewery (SAKAGURA) streets in small town, Kochi Japan. I will be projecting my video works on th wall of the SAKE brewery buildings, along with the Artist Atsumi Sakai's work. This is gonna be interesting!

And I visited Kochi, for the first time in  my life, and the place and the people there are great. It's very different from Tokyo area. You should consider visiting this beautiful small town south of Japan!

Sky's fallin' 空が落ちるとき

around in 2010, I often had a image of fallin' in the sky, ( now I don't), so I took some photos like this..on this day the sky was too beautiful to be real...This photo is actually from back in 2010, from a school project to combine Location and strobe lighting.and the model is not someone I knew.( I usually shoot someone I know for my own work).
I just thought it's funny that this could look like it's shot in a studio with a Sky patterned back paper, or Photoshopped or something. but it's actually a Real sky at the East River side in NY city.   on this shooting I used digital camera, not my old film camera that I use for my personal work, so the quality of the picture looks different from my main style, I think..

これは学生の時に外の自然光とストロボを組み合わせるという実験で撮ったのですが、、撮影したイーストリバー沿いは本当にいい天気で空が嘘みたいにきれいでした。プリントしてみたらスタジオで撮って後で空の画像を合成したかのように見えるほど、、。
このころ良く空の中を落ちていくイメージが浮かんで、（今は見ない）、そんな撮影をいくつかしました。これはカメラもいつもの古いフィルムカメラじゃなくデジタルカメラを使い、モデルも学校側が連れてきたので初めて会った方（笑）（私は自分の写真は大抵自分の知ってる人を撮る）、なので写真の質感がいつもと違った感じになりました。

また花のこと。

椿の花びらが沢山落ちていて、拾ってみたら、真っ白な花びらに水彩絵の具のピンクで筆で描いたみたいに見える淡くてきれいな模様が。いったいこんな繊細なデザインをするのは誰なのか、、自然か、、、。すごい。やっぱり、不思議（驚）。

I saw petals of Camellia　fallen on the ground. I picked them up and saw that it is like, water-color like pink brushed  on whitest white...I just can't stop wondering, who did this delicate design job?!..well...Nature...ok.......

雨 花 宇宙 思い出しゲーム rain, flower, universe and nostalgia

よく言っているのですが雨が好きで、雨が降ると外に出たくなります。最近も、用事のあと雨がしっとり降っているのでつい家とは違う方向に歩き出してしまい、歩きながらいろんなことをまた思い出しました。最近いろいろ思い出しているのです。

今は椿があちこちに咲いていてとてもきれい。実は冬に、きれいな花を見つけて、それを山茶花だと教えてもらった。そして最近、歩いていて、あ、また山茶花がきれい、と思っていたら、前を親子連れが歩いていて、子供が、「お母さん、椿。」と言っていた。。がーん。そういえばもう、冬ではなく春なのだった。花の見分けもつかないなんて。そして花の名前をあまり知らない事に反省して、少し勉強しようかと思ったのだけど、きっと花は人にどんな名前で呼ばれてるかを知らずに咲いてるんだから、、というような詩を何処かで読んだことを思い出し、まあ、いいか。。♪と思ってしまった。。花はどうしてきれいなんだろう。そしていつも思うけど、花の色とか形はどうしてこうなったんだろうと不思議になってくる。そうやって考えていると、存在って？宇宙って？？みたいな方向になってしまう、、と、それで、中学生のころを思い出しました。中学の頃、星を見るのが好きで、夜の空を良く見てた。そして星座とか銀河の名前とかを覚えたりしてロマンに浸っていたんだけど、そのうち、え、でも宇宙って何？という疑問がわいてきてしまった。ビックバンで始まって膨張し続けているらしいという事を聞いたけど、じゃあビッグバンする前は何があったんだろう？膨張している宇宙の果てには何があるんだろう？何も無いとはどういうことなんだろう？？と不思議でしょうがなくなってしまった。それで、ちょうど、その頃親にお願いして望遠鏡を買ってもらったので（おもちゃみたいなやつで何も見れなかった、、。）、友達を誘って、天体観測をしよう！と夜の公園に行った。星の観測はちゃんとできなかったけど、そこで、友達に、宇宙の果てに何があるか不思議でたまらないんだって話したら、彼女は、「そんな事考えてたんだ〜。でもさ〜、この宇宙の外に他にも違う宇宙がいくつも有るかもしれないよね〜。」と言って、私は「えっ！？そ、そういうふうに考えた事無かったな。。」って感じだった。彼女はキレるセンスの持ち主でいつも面白く、ちょっとあこがれてた。

、、そう、雨の散歩をしながらそんな昔のことを思い出しました。最近、目的なく自然の中を散歩したりする時間をできるだけつくろうとしてる。それで、目に映ったものから連想ゲームみたいにすっかり忘れてたあの頃こうだったな、とかいろんな小さなことを思い出したりしてます。それによって今の自分がもっとよく見えてくる気がして、ほっとするのです。雨を口実に散歩するのは楽しい。もちろん晴れでも散歩は楽しい☆

I've said this a lot but I love rain. when it's raining, I want to go out...Lately on my way home, I started to take a walk because it was raining softly. Now Camellia is blooming everywhere and they are beautiful.  When I see beautiful flowers, they make me wonder why they are beautiful. I wonder why they have this color and this shape.. it even  leads me to further questions like what is existence, and what is universe...??  Then I recalled the memories from back when I was in Junior High. I loved looking at Night sky to see stars.  I tried to remember names of constellations and galaxies and getting romantic..but then it led me to wonder what is Universe. I've heard that it started with Big Bang. But wonder what was there before it ? what can it mean?? anyway As my Parents gave me a telescope( it was like a toy and didn't work), I took my friend to go some stargazing together. At the night park, I told my friend that I couldn't help but wondering what is universe and what is there at the edge of the expanding universe. She told me, "Oh, you've been thinking things like that!? well, don't you think there might exist some other universe outside of this universe?" I was like, "Oh!? I haven't thought like that. interesteing."..

Anyway these days I try to take some time to walk around in the nature.  It gives me time to recall memories and clear  insight into what I am now.

Anyway it's fun to take a walk whether it's raining or sunny☆

NY在住のバンドRobin's Egg Blueの新曲"Boule De Neige"と私の映像のコラボレーションでミュージックビデオを作りました。

この曲は、アツミさん（Vo.)が、フランスの白い雪のようなお菓子Boule De Neigeを食べた時においしくてうっとりした気持ちを曲にしたということだったので、キーワードは”雪”だと思って、私には、スノードームのきらきらが浮かんできて、スノードームを見てうっとりした時の気持ちからイメージをふくらませてこのビデオを作りました。この映像は、いわゆるCGというものではなくて、持っているスノードームと手作りのスノードームとスノードームの様なもの、を沢山作って、生撮影しました。なので、ノイズ感があったりするけど、それも味かなと思います。
曲の歌詞も、すごく素直でシンプルで、でも貴重な気持ちを歌ってる感じがしたので、（日常の小さなよろこび系、キラキラな感じ）、わたしも、小さい頃家にあった、ボールペンなんだけど、中に水とキラキラが入ってるやつを、大好きで良く眺めていたのを思いだしたりしました。というか、仕上がった映像を見ると、無意識にスノードームというよりそのボールペンを持っててうれしかった気持ちが映像になってる気がします。音は記憶を呼び起こす。。

 As I was told by Atsumi(singer) that the song is about her feeling when she ate the french sweets, "Boule De Neige", she got ecstatic with it's delicious taste...  "Boule De Neige" looks like a snowball, so  I thought the keyword on this song is "Snow", then I recalled the happy feeling when I saw　glittering snowdomes.

This video is not a computer drawings, but I hand-made some snowdomes and some snowdome-like thing and shot with my video camera. so there are some noise in the video but I think I rather like it.

I thought the lyric on this song is very simple and about the precious little feeling in daily life.

As I edit the video, it reminded me of a pen I had when I was little, a pen that contains water and some glitter in it. I loved looking at it. I realized that I was unconsicously recalling and visualizing my feeling when I looked at the glittering pen, not only snowdomes.....music awakens the memory..
